than most others in the state.
Elmwood is rated one of
the best conditioned city owned golf courses in the state.
Walking
Stick golf course was rated 4-stars by Golf Digest Magazine. It has
also been rated as “Colorado's best golf value”.
This course was named the 2nd "Best in State" by "Golf Digest" in
1993. Additionally, "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 10th best under the
category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" in their 1996
list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play."
Elmwood Golf Course originated in the early
1900's and has recently undergone a two million dollar renovation and
redesign.
This golf course features a driving range, 2 putting
greens, and a chipping green. The 18-hole course is a par-70 that plays between
5343 and 6624 yards depending on tee location. The 9-hole Executive course is a
par-30 at 2119 yards. The thousands of trees that line this course have given this
course its new name (formally City Park Golf Course). It is a full service golf
course, offering a pro shop and a restaurant.
Walking
Stick is a full service course, which offers both a restaurant and a pro shop.
The 18-hole course is a par-72 that plays between 5181 and 7147 yards
depending on tee location. This
facility can accommodate any of your tournament needs. There have
been numerous major tournaments hosted at Walking Stick to include:
- National Insurance Youth Classic
- Colorado Section PGA Championship
- Colorado Amateur Stroke - Play Championship
- Walking Stick is also the home of the local US
